I spent the first 15 years of my career running into danger – with a clipboard. After a while, I decided that I really wanted to be a part of the solution for the people that were still running into the fray. I saw what trauma did to people, and I couldn’t just stand idly by and watch my friends live with the images, and… stuff…. that comes with helping others. So, my practice is literally built on dark humor, empathy, and compassion. Your stories are safe here.
What you can expect from our first session
- You will NEVER feel judged.
- You will feel heard and valued.
- You have some new tools and strategies that you didn’t have before.
- You walk away with something else to ask yourself, think about, etc. Therapy isn’t a magic wand (but damn, I wish it was) for our pain and heartache, but it CAN help to have a new, kinder perspective to what you’ve been beating yourself up for.
There are things that happen to us that we just didn’t deserve. There are other choices that we wished we could do differently. Sometimes, we get hit with a plot twist that just doesn’t make sense, and we feel like we’re trying to put together a puzzle that has no box lid or play a game that has no directions, and we’re just making up as we go along.
The good news is that you’re not alone in that. The even better news is that there are TOOLS for that!
