I'm a wife to my military husband, a mom to my insane but lovable children, a dog lover, and a people lover. Most of all, I want to be a difference maker, a force for the good in the world, and a voice against the evil that tries to invade.

Do you take insurance?

Yep, I sure do! Right now, I'm using Headway and am paneled with:

Oxford

Oscar Health

United Healthcare (UHC)

Aetna

Cigna

BCBS - currently pending

Magellan - currently pending

When you fill out the intake paperwork, Headway will do a benefits eligibility, and that will give us a pretty good ballpark for what you will need to pay per session. 

What if I don't have insurance or don't want to use insurance?

I offer a sliding scale for anyone who is uninsured or underinsured. Cost should not be what keeps you from coming to session. 

Using insurance is also not mandatory! Not everyone wants to use theirs, and that's totally fine! 

What is Telehealth?

Using a HIPPA compliant (meaning secure) platform, you will receive a link for our session. This is ideally using a laptop, but a phone works also. Telehealth can be super helpful when you and your partner are in two different locations, and both of you can join. It also helps lessen the logistical nightmare that an appointment can be: driving across town, getting off work, etc. 

What should I expect?

The first session is usually the most awkward, since you're literally talking to a "talking head" on a laptop. We will go over your paperwork, and make sure that all of your questions are answered. In the first few sessions, we will make a game plan of what you goals and objectives are: some people come in with something specific, others may feel lost or numb and not sure what to do or what to focus on first. That's okay! 

What if I need to cancel, or I want to see another therapist?

All cancellations made within 24 hours are made at no charge. I also understand emergencies happen, and try to stay flexible. Cancellations within 10 hours of appointment time, will incur the same charge as your appointment fee. Insurance does not cover cancellation fees, so let me know as soon as you can. 

Not every therapist is a good fit. I've had to "interview" with therapists also, and some were lovely humans, but we just didn't jive. It's really okay, as long as it's communicated. All you need to do is send me an email and let me know you've decided not to continue.
